I love this place, there is a large bar downstairs with a restaurant on the first floor. The décor, in both the bar and restaurant is outstanding! Such a great, quirky place – it reminds me of a retro champagne bar / cirque du soleil / Moulin Rouge!
The menu is also something slightly different – the starters are all designed to be shared, such a fabulous idea for when you’re out with friends.
We ordered from the Dine in Dublin menu which was €25 per person and included a 3-course dinner and a cocktail. The cocktail was a gin, tomato and basil one – not something I would have ordered myself but it was delicious! Really fragrant with basil with a slight sweetness coming through from the tomatoes, very refreshing. After the cocktails we both had the Rye field goats cheese salad with beetroot, pickled fennel and rocket, which was very fresh and tasty. To follow I had the confit of duck and, oh boy, was that duck tender!! It came with delicious red braised cabbage, that still had some bite to it which I loved! Nothing worse than cabbage that has been cooked to oblivion. Becky had the corn-fed chicken with pistachio and brie stuffing served with a tomato beurre blanc. The chicken was succulent and the sauce was creamy and full of flavour.
For dessert we had a selection of mini deserts that included sticky toffee pudding (my favourite), white chocolate ice cream and a blueberry and almond tart. Yum!
All in all we had such a great time and extremely tasty food in what must be one of Dublin’s coolest restaurants.
We will definitely be back!!
