I know, I know... it's only November. I'm not sure if it's just me but the retailers seem to have whipped out the Christmas decorations even earlier than last year. Not that I'm complaining, really. I admit, I am one of these annoying people that come September I have all the Christmas cook books out, by October I am torturing my husband and trying out festive different recipes. But the real and true beginning of the festive season for me is when Brown Thomas launch their Christmas window display. So anyone who doesn't like to see the C - word just yet, look away now : )
So, my festive season is starting now, I am now going to allow myself to plan parties, meals, buy presents, drink mulled wine... the whole lot (well, I am not allowed to play any Christmas music until the 1st December - my husband is a bit of a Grinch that way..)! The BT Christmas window display can only be enhanced by one thing, and one thing only - the Christmas lights on Grafton Street, which will be lit this Thursday (14th November 2013).
What makes you feel like the festive season has started? Do you have any markers / rituals?
