With London Fashion Week now done and dusted, we’ve a good idea what’s in store for AW15. Yes, we’re still working our thermal layers eagerly awaiting the arrival of warmer days, but there’s still something a little bit special to look forward to with the AW collections. And in true girl scout fashion, it’s always good to be prepared! Here are five trends-to-be which graced LFW AW15 runways.
- Geometric Prints
Holly Fulton, Jasper Conran and Roksanda Ilincic were but a few LFW runways where big, bold contrasting geometric prints were spotted. There’s something lovely about the pop of vibrant colour against a grey wintery backdrop that I’m loving.
Julien MacDonald was one of the more accessible brands to embrace beautiful embellishments. It’s always lovely to up the sparkle in the run up to the festive season, and from deep dark lace to heavy beading and sequins complete with dramatic thigh high splits, this collection had it all.
- Punk Princess
Pretty punk looks rocked the runway at Siblings Ready-to-Wear collection with big hair, pops of shocking hot pink and a general edgy eclectic vibe. And Mohawks, lots of Mohawks.
- 80’s Silhouettes
Love it or hate is eighties influences are bang on trend for AW15. From shoulder pads to oversized jumpers, J.W.Anderson was all about the classic eighties silhouette…which is seriously growing on me!
- Tweeds and Fur
Topshop Unique was definitely one of my favourite ready-to-wear lines with a combination of traditional countryside tweeds in stylish cuts with cosy fur trims while corduroy and delicate lace also featured. Definitely one of the more wearable lines for AW and one I can't wait to see hit the highstreet.
