Weddings: Image Bride Prep Workshop

Image BRIDEPrep Workshop

I cannot imagine a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than making mood boards, arranging flowers and tasting delicious cakes... So last Sunday we attended the Image BRIDEPrep Workshop in the Dean Hotel to do just that!

We started at 2pm with the lovely Sharon Greene from Queens of Neon who talked about designing a perfect event for your big day and how to create a mood board for your suppliers - one of my favourite things to do ever! Sharon is a super-creative wedding stylist who will inject excitement and magic into your wedding day.

If you show your vendors images, they don't have to imagine what you're thinking Sharon Greene | Queens of Neon

Next up was creative florist superstar Mark Grehan from The Garden - if you have ever been in the Powerscourt Townhouse you will have seen his amazing work. Mark talked us through designing wedding florals and the importance of choosing seasonal blooms. We then had a play with the flowers and Mark gave us some tips on creating our own bouquets. If you are getting married or just love looking at beautiful blooms make sure you check out Mark's website and social media!

The final segment, and the tastiest one, was brought to us by Kate Packwood of Wildflour Bakery who chatted to us about designing the perfect cake table. Kate is a creative baker extraordinaire with a passion for quality ingredients. She creates cakes with the most surprising flavours like tonka beans, matcha tea, roasted white chocolate and juniper berries (not all in the same cake!!). Her delicious creations include things like Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt Caramel Triangles, Lemon Blueberry & Thyme cakes as well as some boozy options like a Honey & Lavender Cake with Saffron Gin & Italian Meringue Buttercream. Kate's cakes are just incredible so if you are based in Dublin I highly recommend you visit one of the stockists and try one!

Whether you are getting married or you just enjoy planning events (the components are the same!) you will so enjoy this event! Make sure to follow @ImageBrides on twitter and look out for the next workshop! It was amazing value for money and we went home with the gorgeous bouquets we made and some fantastic goodie bags.

Would you consider designing parts of your wedding yourself? Let us know!
