Hand cream is something I rarely get excited about. Sure, I toss it in my handbag along with about nine random lipsticks, earring backs and a black hole of receipts, but its not generally something I put much thought into. The thing is, your hands, like your face, are constantly exposed to the elements and one of the first areas to show signs of ageing (along with the neck *scared face*).
So it would make sense for a little thought to be put into your hand treatment. Generally a nice scent and non-greasy formula ticks all my boxes when it comes to a hand cream, but Hand Chemistry changed that a little. I first spotted this product in boots immediately identifying its similarities to Indeed Labs, one of my favourite active ingredient focussed skincare brands.
It's actually the brainchild of Deceim, a similarly scientifically focussed skincare brand that take away the fluff (and the margins passed onto us for celebratory endorsement) and concentrates on the science bit that gives results beyond what you'd expect. I genuinely never expected 'results' from a hand cream, this stuff is a little bit magic though.
Brace yourself for the skincare geek science bit... with a 19.5% active concentration of a combination of GHK (copper peptide that increases elasticity), Pseudoalteromonas (ferment extract with powerful anti-aging properties) and Plantago Lanceolata (natural anti-inflammatory), I feel like I've been apply Creme de la Mer to my hands for a week and the results are pretty amazing. Genuinely, I would be confident using this on my face!
Yes it is advanced skincare for hands and yes it will set you back more than you'd generally pay for a hand cream but it's also an absolute performer and does deliver seriously impressive results.
Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex is available from larger Boots stores, priced €29.95.
