3 Healthy Dessert Smoothie Recipes + Favourite Smoothie Ingredients

three healthy dessert smoothies apple pie, chocolate peanut butter smoothie, pina colada smoothie

I don't have a particularly sweet toot but sometimes I get a craving and all I want is to stuff my face with bars of Galaxy, doughnuts and any kind of pie I can get my hands on. Obviously, this is not such a good idea, so instead, I try to satisfy my sweet craving with a healthy dessert smoothie. These don't only taste like the real deal, but they're are also healthy and nutritious. A win - win, you may say.

The great thing about these is that you need very few ingredients and can be thrown together any time of the day or night in a mater of minutes!

You will need...

1 cup Alpro Unsweetened Almond Milk 1/2 sliced banana 1 tbsp peanut butter 1-3 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tsp milled flaxseed 1 tsp chia seeds maple syrup to taste

All you need to do is...

...pop all of the ingredients into a Nutribullet or any other blender and blitz until smooth. Poor into a glass & enjoy! I love decorating the top with raw cocoa nibs but it's also perfectly fine straight out of the Nutribullet container. Sometimes things just can't wait!

Favourite Smoothie Ingredients

These are just three of endless combinations! They are super easy to make if you have just a few key ingredients at hand! The things I like to keep at home are Alpro Milk (I ALWAYS have almond but the hazelnut or almond dark chocolate are absolutely delicious too!) and recently I have been loving the Alpro Fusion drinks - lovely in a smoothie but also perfect as a drink on their own. The other thing I always like to add to smoothies are milled flaxseed and chia seeds, they are so good for you and amazing in porridge and overnight oats as well. For sweeteners I like using maple syrup and raw honey (this one is from my granny's).
