Can we just take a moment to appreciate this absolutely stunning palette, please? With the usual prettiness that is any Chanel, packaging comes a palette of four completely beautiful warm eyeshadows. This is the first EVER entirely matte eyeshadow palette from Chanel and Le Rouge is the first collection to launch since Lucia Pica has joined the fashion house.
The nail polish in the photo above is not part of the collection but goes perfectly with the palette, you can read more about the polish & the new amazing formulation here.
The palette in Candour at Expérience is perfection to me. The shadows are beautiful: a paler camel brown shade, a warm brown (very Olsen twins), a rich chocolate brown and then the stunner in the palette - a beautiful rusty red. The red looks a bit scary but it's the most wearable and gorgeous colour and no doubt you will see it worn loads this season.
The rest of the collection is equally beautiful and I will be picking up the remaining items this week. The Illusion D'Ombre shadows in this collection are to die for and so is the intensely berry / red lipstick. At the end of a colourful and pastel summer, I crave colours like these, rich plums, reds and browns that are deep, dark and moody...
The shadows are very creamy in consistency and apply very well. They are soft so blending is easy. You can absolutely use all 4 shades in one eye look but I am a fan of the one eyeshadow swipe, I find it looks more modern and, let's face it, suits my low slightly lazy/busy lifestyle.
The palette will set you back €51, but that's €51 well spent in my book - I will be wearing these every day! The palette is available from Debenhams, Brown Thomas and all other Chanel counters. The Le Rouge collection launched around a week ago and is available on counters now!
