It may seem as though summer has just about arrived and we’re finally thawing out, but with high street sales in full swing we’re looking firmly in the direction of autumn winter collections, which let’s be honest, are always the best.
I’m basically secretly a little old lady, and in addition a cups of tea and the occasional mid-afternoon nap, there are few things I enjoy more than stocking up on new-season knitwear (and loungewear, any anything made from buttery leather, and expensive candles…) so the run up to autumn and all its cosiness is pretty much my favourite time of year.
We recently got to preview Penneys Autumn Winter collections and although always exciting and lovely, this collection has to be a standalone favourite. Although this is a fashion focused post with what new wardrobe staples you can keep an eye out for, it's next to impossible not to mention the latest homewares collection which will be arriving in store from Mid-August. With a combination of copper and marble inspired loveliness, you’re pretty much guaranteed to want all of.
When it comes to Penney's AW16 offering, there are lots of winter glam pieces including metallic fabrics and gorgeous faux furs, there's a bit of a 70's vibe going on here - think Studio 54. Perfect as the evenings get darker and winter festivities begin to ramp up. For you inner model off-duty the evening pieces are balanced out with more casual embroidered denim and monochrome bombers with a definite sports luxe vibe.
The styling is seriously impressive with some Zara and Topshop ringers for a fraction of the price tag. Here’s a taster of what you can expect, landing in Penney’s stores nationwide from mid-August…
