Quick Pamper Session | H&M Beauty Face Masks

HM Face Masks Pink Elephant Blog

H&M Beauty is still a bit of a new discovery for us... It recently however hit the shelves in the H&M Flagship Store on Dame Street and I for one could not help myself! The packaging of their products is incredible and it turns out that the products inside are pretty amazing too! So, let's start with the H&M Face Masks.

Cucumber & Aloe

This is a mask that is made for tired skin and is gentle cucumber and aloe peel-off mask. It removes daily dirt and grime, leaving skin feeling refreshed and cleansed. It's amazing after you've been traveling and your skin feels tired and congested.

Liquorice & Sugar

This one is fantastic for more oily skin that is slightly on the dehydrated side. It has small beads of natural sugar that buff away dead skin cells, while sweet almond oil and olive oil replenish your skin's moisture levels.

Witch Hazel

One of my favourite ingredients in skincare! This mask is a natural clay mask with rosemary and tea leaf helps. It's designed to cleanse the skin and reduce unwanted oils, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and clear. Definitely more suited towards oily and combination skin, absolutely brilliant for that once a month big cleanse!

Spearmint & Ehinacea

I love a nice peel off mask, especially in the summer when my skin can get quite grimey and yucky feeling. This mask is a purifying one and contains fentain root extract which is supposed to help with blemish prone skin.

All in all these masks get a massive thumbs up from me! They all work really well and are a pleasure to use. They are all 10ml which means they are single use (I quite like that, makes them perfect for traveling!). When you calculate the price per use (2.99) they are probably not the cheapest face masks out there but you have the flexibility of getting several different ones rather than using the same old boring face mask every time.

I can totally recommend these! If you haven't given them a go just yet pick up a couple next time you're in H&M, you won't regret it! I am going to stock up on lots of new ones to try this week!

Have you ever tried any cosmetics from H&M Beauty?

Adventure in Style: H&M Studio Spring / Summer 2016

Sneak-Peek-HM-Studio-Spring-Summer-2016.jpg

“H&M Studio for spring/summer 2016 is an adventure in style. Our girl is always exploring, whether she’s on the city streets or on the trip of a lifetime. She mixes function with femininity, sportswear with pieces for a party, and whatever she wears she always looks effortless,” says Pernilla Wohlfarth, H&M’s head of design.

The recent H&M Studio SS16 collection really resonated with me! I love the explorer chic vibes - traveling is my favourite thing to do and in spring and summer I love channeling my inner adventure seeker. It's hard for me to pick one favourite piece because, honestly, I love nearly every single one!

The colourful tunic dress (€79.99) is definitely on my shopping list and so is that nifty little blanket / scarf carrier (€29.99)! There is also a great range of swimwear in the collection... ok who am I kidding? I want it all!

Which piece is your favourite?

Cold Weather Essentials: Winter Woolies

Cold Weather Essentials: Winter Woolies | Pink Elephant Blog.It seems as though our freakishly warm November has taken an unforgiveable sharp turnaround, complete with gale force winds and a side of rain. Truth be told there’s nowhere I’d rather been than at home under my duvet when it’s like this outside, but when getting up and showing up is the only option, then gorgeously cosy winter woolies are just what’s needed.

There is no shortage of beautiful winter wear on the highstreet right now, and what better excuse to hit the shops than not wanting to catch a cold (we’re sensible like that!). Here are a few current favourites when it comes to wrapping up warm this winter…

Clockwise from top left:  Grey Sleeveless Polo, €31 Oasis Burgundy bobble hat, €16.50, Warehouse Urbancode Mongolian wool collar, €130, ASOS PomPom handwarmers, €17.00, River Island Camel Polo Poncho, €45 Oasis ‘Honey It’s Cold Outside’ Jumper, €19.99, H&M Grey Leather Pompom gloves, €22, River Island

3 Things: The Autumn Edit

Three-Things-Autumn-Edit.jpg

Three Things Autumn Edit

Autumn truly is my favourite season, especially when the days are sunny, dry and just slightly crisp. I love getting cozy, layering up clothes & cooking warming autumnal dishes. To me autumn is the season of hot spiced cider, scarfs, boots and red leaves.

One: Cozy Knits

Now is the perfect time to stock up on gorgeous knits and layer them for maximum coziness. Some of my favourite pieces come form the gorgeous H&M Studio AW 15 line and the Oasis & Warehouse AW15 collections.

Two: Orchard Glow aka Spiced Apple Juice

One of my favourite things to do in Autumn is to hit the Dublin food markets, head to the Llewellyn's Orchard stand and get a cup of their Orchard Glow which is a hot spiced cloudy apple juice with a shot of apple brandy. It's practically autumn in a cup!

Orchard Glow

However if you can't make it to one of the Dublin food markets it is really easy to recreate this at home! Heat some cloudy apple juice with a stick of cinnamon, some cloves, cardamom pods and let them infuse for a while. To make it extra warming add a dash of calvados (apple brandy) or whiskey.

Three: Fire

My fire place is one of my favourite places in my house. There is nothing as cozy and comforting as a crackling fire when the nights get chilly. I also love burning scented candles around that time of year. Two of my all time favourites are the This Works Black Spice & Cedar candle and the Pomegranate Noir one from Jo Malone (I need to buy another one of these!)Fireplace and candle

The Fashion Edit: Rainy Summer Day Casual

The summer that never was seems to be coming to an end over here in Ireland and we've had to suffer our first few colder days. There's a lot of A/W stuff in the shops that I am loving so it was great to be able to pick up a few things and actually wear them (I'm trying very hard to find a positive in all this). This is a very casual and cozy outfit - my favourite kind!

Easy Father's Day DIY Gift Idea

IMG_9356-21.jpg

Easy Father's Day DIY Father's Day is so close now and you still haven't got an idea of what present to get for Dad this year..? We have the perfect idea for you! It is easy to do, customisable and shows you have put some thought and heart into the present.

I am a huge fan of hampers. Whether it is a birthday, hostess or a just-because gift it's something you can put together and capture some personality, make it really special. The possibilities are endless and you can go all out or keep it budget-friendly.

Easy Father's Day DIY

I went with some nice things I know my Dad will love:

 - A gorgeous Spanish red wine. If your Dad's tipple of choice is something different you could go for a nice bottle of whiskey, cognac or gin...

- The new L'Occitane Cedrat Eau de Toilette and Shower Gel. I love the scent of this line, it is a wonderfully fresh, delicate citrus fragrance that is absolutely perfect for summer. It has quite a sophisticated edge to it and a slightly smokey, woody base which makes it an absolutely delicious scent.

- A selection of dark chocolates. Again, go for whatever you think your dad will like, anything that will feel like a treat: chocolates, gourmet biscuits or a selection of his favourite cheeses. A great place to shop for little delicacies are small deli's like Avoca, Fallon and Byrne or Sheridan's Cheesemongers.

- A summer shirt from H&M. A gorgeous tie, belt or jumper would also be amazing! Check out shops like H&M for more basic items or Ted Baker for the more quirky and colourful accessories.

- Wooden crate from IKEA and some twine. I love the raw and rustic gift packaging, it's not expensive and is quite practical (could be used as storage for dad's whiskey collection...) To make it look like a present use a bit of twine and you're done! If you can't get to IKEA, don't worry! Lot's of places do amazing wooden crates or wire baskets that will do perfectly (check out the home section of TK Maxx)

This is just one of the ways you could assemble the hamper, but really, anything goes: books, DVDs, gardening tools, fishing accessories, cigars - whatever your dad will enjoy most!

Easy Father's Day DIY

It's so easy to make and will show Dad you have put lots of thought and heart into the gift. Give it a try!

What are you giving your dad this year?

Gold & Copper: A H&M Home Haul

Gold & Copper: A H&M Home HaulH&M Home is one of my favourite places to shop for accessories for my house. Their designs are fantastic and, most importantly, very, very affordable. So while I was in London last time I picked up a few bits and pieces.

Copper: A H&M Home HaulThe one downside to H&M Home is that they haven't opened in Ireland yet and other than traveling to the UK (or one of the other countries they have outlets in) there is no way of getting your hands on these goodies. Even my trusty Parcel Motel didn't work as H&M home don't deliver to post box addresses. So once I got to London I made sure I had enough suitcase space to pick up a few bits.

Golden Cake Stand £9.99 This cake stand is just gorgeous and will cakes look fab but would also make for great makeup or jewelery storage unit on a dressing table.

Copper Wire Basket £7.99 I had my eye on this for ages and am so happy I picked it up. The basket lives in my bathroom and houses my guest and towels. I actually regret not getting a couple more of these! They are a great size and would be fab for office storage as well.

Cushion Cover (similar) £12.99 I am obsessed with cushions and can't hep myself when I see a pattern I like. It took me ages to choose just one as pretty much all of the cushion covers in H&M Home are amazing. I will be picking up more when I can!

Tea Towel £2.99 These are really cheap and have great patterns - a really easy way to add a bit of interest to the kitchen.

Let's hope H&M Home open in Ireland soon, there's a ton more things I want to buy! What is your favourite place to shop when decorating on a budget?
