Now that spring seems to be FINALLY upon us; I feel like it's a good time to talk new skincare. I never generally write about a brand as a whole when it comes to skincare - I like to pick out bits and pieces from lots of brands. But I feel like The Ordinary deserves it!Read More
It's a rare occasion that I try a foundation and can immediately call it a new favourite, which is exactly whats happened with Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. Having had the opportunity to be colour matched by the Too Faced experts at Debenhams all of 24 hours ago, I can safely say this is my kind of base. what immediately sparked my interest is the combo of coconut water to hydrate skin and my all time favourite hyaluronic acid, which plumps skin - se pretty much exactly what my skin needs when I'm struggling to get my eight hours sleep.
This is an oil free foundation, so perfect for oily or combination skin like mine (once upon time I had dry skin - I'm now firmly on team combo). The coverage is beautiful, described as medium to full, but with none of that heavy, powdery mattifying effect you'd expect from an oil free, full coverage base. A little goes a long way, and having applied at the crack of dawn this morning, I'm impressed with what remains at this time of the day. A little powder for any oily areas and you really do get a full days wear.
SPF free, there's the added advantage of no flashback when having your picture taken, it's important to remember to apply a daily SPF under your makeup (Alpha H do a great one). I love the blendability and buildable nature of this foundation, if you're skin is in good condition you could easily ditch the concealer and just go with this. The combination of coconut oil with hyaluronic acid suites my skin so well, and is a great summer make bag addition.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is priced €35.00 (Warm Nude pictured above) and available from Debenhams.
